Hoover Vacuum My Hoover cannister model s3614 'runabout powermax' suddenly lost power to the agitator roller in the rug brush. Where the wire cord enters the power brush, the covering has rubbed off exposing the wires which are not bare but still have their own covering. For a while the power came and went as I manipulated the wires but finally died. Is this something I can fix myself or is it going to be an expensive professional repair? (Warrantee has elapsed.) Thanks. Our Hoover upright vacuum cleaner makes a very loud noise when it is running.

What causes this? Miele vacuum Sometimes when I hit the auto roll up cord button or even move the cord, the power vacuum goes off.
I move the cord again and it comes back on. I took it apart and looked at the connection from the cord to the auto roller. These are the electrical slip on type connections and are still in good shape. There are no bends in the cord.
I air dusted everthing inside, put it together (with no extra parts!). Good news.it powered up so I did not break it, but it still has the same problem. I have a Hoover Platinum carpet cleaner, and it has stopped dispensing cleaning agent and water. This model has a separate tank for water and separate tank for shampoo dispensing.
It also has a power hand unit that dispenses shampoo. All along the hand unit has continued to dispense shampoo.
Symptom #1, the water tank seemed to be taking on shampoo, as it was getting sudsy. Symptom #2 - On wash mode, nothing would come out, on Rinse mode, sudsy water would come out. Later, symptom #3 - not Somewhere on the outlet is a control tap thats driven by a rubber band and something is up with this control, best advice here is put it in the boot of the car and take iot to a hoover dealer, they will do it seconds for you. Have a Eureka Power Plus 12.0 Amps Model 4702 Type A 120 volts and 60 HZ that there is something wrong that it isn't picking up right and you can actually feel the air coming out of it near where the bagless canister attaches. My thoughts are that a seal is missing around where the hole lines up when the cannister is locked in. This Vac was my Mom's and she passed away and I think a part went missing maybe when it was taken apart to clean the filter and empty the canister. Need to figure out if.
